William Dean Watkins, 74, died on Wednesday (August 31, 2011) at Kansas Christian Home in Newton.
He was born December 27, 1936 , in Newton , to William Homer and Gwendolyn Watkins. On July 16, 1961 , he married Lorraine Elizabeth Denton at First Baptist Church in Newton.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of the home; son Scott and his wife Maren, of Salt Lake City, UT; son Robert and his wife Kimberly of Newton; son David and his wife Tracy, of Osage City, KS; brother Robert; brother L. Mac and his wife Glenda; sister Barbara and her husband Charles Hollingshead; and four grandchildren: Ryan, Jace, Myka, and Megan.
Funeral service will be at 10:30a.m.Saturday (Sept. 3, 1011) at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home. Pastors Ted Veer and Bill Regier will preside. Burial at Eastlawn Cemetery in Zimmerdale will follow.
