Sharon Ruth Werner, 81, died Tuesday (December 29, 2020) at Grace Cottage in Wichita, Ks.
She was born on December 4, 1939 in Jamestown, Kansas, the daughter of Ernest Edgar and Edith Irene Thomas VanBeber. Sharon was raised in El Dorado, Kansas.
She married Ronald Jay Werner on July 27, 1977 in Miami, Oklahoma. They lived in Newton until moving to Halstead in 1999 where they lived until moving to Wichita in 2017.
The family enjoyed spending time in Colorado.
Survivors include her husband Ronald of Wichita; sons Mike Wade, Jeff and Joan Nightengale, Darrin and Dawnya Werner all of Wichita; brother Jim VanBeber of Missouri and sister JoAnn Weeks of Georgia.
Sharon is also survived by her grandchildren Jessica Cleveland of Andover, Julia and Jenna Nightengale of Wichita, Jessica Werner of Newton, Garrett Werner of Wichita, Tanner Werner of Wichita; and her great grandchildren Margaret Johnson, Korbyn Werner, Isabella Adrian,
Lelighla Adrian, and Koy Benewiat.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday (January 4, 2021) between 5:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M.
Private family inurnment will be in the Restlawn Cemetery outside of Newton.
A memorial has been established with Caring Hands Humane Society, contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, Ks. 67114.
