Robert Lee Androes, 93, of Newton, KS was promoted to his heavenly home on October 27, 2023. Robert (Bob) is survived by his wife, Evalena (Thiesen) Androes; his son, Tim (Lillian Carothers) of Salina, KS; his daughter, Lorna (Don) Grimes of Independence, MO; his son, Roy of McPherson, KS; grandchildren: Amanda Foy, Michael Androes, David Grimes, Lena Jelinek, Katherine Bosworth, and Luke Grimes; and seven great grandchildren. Robert is proceeded in death by his parents and siblings: Irma Janzen, Walter Androes, and Linda Domingo.     Robert was born September 14,1930 in his family home in Newton, KS to his parents, Isaac B and Anna (Enns) Androes. He was the youngest of four in a Christian home. After graduating from high school, Robert enlisted in the Air Force, trained as a teletype mechanic. He served in Puerto Rico 3 years of his enlistment. After military service, he was trained in  machine shop at Pittsburg State University Vocational School. Robert worked longest as a tool and die maker at Hay and Forage Industries until he retired.
     Robert and Evalena celebrated 65 years of marriage this year. They made their home in Walton, KS for 57 years raising their family on a small farm. In their retirement, Robert and Evalena enjoyed traveling to many states, Canada and Puerto Rico. He enjoyed spending time with his family, attending church, gardening, and reading. The burial took place on Thursday, November 2, at Restlawn Gardens of Memory (Newton).
