Phyllis Ann Smith

Phyllis A. Smith, age 72, of Newton passed away on April 30, 2023 at McPherson Health and Rehab. She was born on April 1, 1951 to William A. and Rosalie Mae (Ahlstedt) Brewer, Sr. in Lindsborg, Kansas.

Phyllis was raised in Lindsborg and McPherson. When she married Joe Smith, they moved to Oklahoma. Phyllis was an avid reader and when you saw her, she most likely had a book in her hand.

Phyllis is survived by her sons, Donald R. Crouch, Jr, Ray D. Smith; daughter, Paula S. Crouch; step-sisters, Sally Jackson (Jim), and Phyliss Werth.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Rosalie; husband, Joe Smith; and brothers, Larry Brewer and William Brewer, Jr.

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, May 5, 2023 2:00p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Lindsborg, Kansas.

Broadway Colonial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
