Michael Brandon Goering

Michael “Mike” Goering, born May 10, 1982, passed away on August 21, 2026, at the age of 44. Mike was a son, a brother, and a grandson. Raised in Wichita, KS, he attended Wichita public schools and spent his adult life working in local restaurants, home improvement stores, and caring for his Grandpa Jack—one of the roles he was most proud of.

Mike had a kind heart and a thoughtful spirit. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, enjoyed video games, and found peace in simple routines—walking or taking drives with the family dog, Zelia. He was gifted with his hands, building garden beds, shaping stone landscaping, and helping remodel the home he shared with his mom. His work remains in the walls, the yard, and the memories of his family.

Mike had a big heart and was known for his generosity. He never turned away a friend who needed a place to stay, a warm meal, or someone to listen. His quiet acts of kindness touched many lives, often in ways he never spoke about.

He is preceded in death by his father, Bill Goering, his paternal grandparents, Bill and Alice Goering; and his maternal grandfather, Jack Stauffer. He is survived by his mother, Sharon Goering; his brother, Billy Goering; his maternal grandmother, Linda Stauffer; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Private family services will be held, with burial at Tabor Cemetery in Goessel, Kansas.
