Martha Gomez

Martha (Rodriguez) Gomez 98 died May 1, 2023, at Paramount Community Living and Rehab in Newton Kansas. She was born April 25.1925 in Newton KS, to Severo and Teresa (Grajeda) Rodriguez. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church Newton, Kansas.

On September 18, 1948 Martha married Margarito Gomez. They shared 69 years of marriage, prior to his death on May 20, 2017.

Martha’s survivors are her children Irene (Arnold) Cavazos Newton, Kansas; Edwardo (Cheryl) Gomez Wichita, Kansas; Steven (Diana) Gomez Olathe, Kansas; Teresa (Clifford) Fisher Valley Center, Kansas; Sister Henrietta Calvillo Hutchinson, Kansas; 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 brothers; and 6 sisters.

Visitation will be Sunday May 7, 2023 from 1:00 pm – 4:00pm at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, with family receiving family and friends. Rosary will be Monday May 8, 2023 at 10:00am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am, both at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 421 S. Ash St, Newton, Kansas with Father Jorge Lopez officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Mary’s Cemetery Newton, Kansas.

Martha Gomez's family would like to thank the staff of Paramount; and The Good Shepherd Hospice for the loving care provided to our mother. 

Family suggests memorials to Good Shepherd Hospice, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, or Paramount Community Living and Rehab.
