Marilyn C. Smith died peacefully on September 9, 2018 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita, Kansas. She was 87 years old.
Family and friends visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton, Kansas.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at a Broadway Colonial Funeral Home .
Marilyn was born December 31, 1930, and married Bill T. Smith on August 14, 1949 in Newton. They were married for 69 wonderful years. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Bill T. Smith who died October 16, 2016.
Marilyn loved to travel when she was not chasing twin brothers born August 21, 1950. Bill worked as a Conductor on the Santa Fe Railroad for 44 years retiring February 15, 1992. Marilyn was employed in Customer Service at Collins Rockwell for 15 years, retiring February 1, 1991.
Marilyn is survived by two sons: Ronald D. Smith of Newton, KS and Thomas B. Smith of Wichita, KS and two granddaughters, Michelle Smith of Kansas City, Kansas and Alexandra Smith of Denver, Colorado.
A memorial has been established with Caring Hands Humane Society, contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, Ks. 67114.
Arrangements are by Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton.
