Marie Suzanne Nachtigall, age 60, went to be with her Savior on November 20, 2025, in Newton, Kansas. She was born on May 30, 1965, in Newton, Kansas, to her proud parents, Andrew and Adina Nachtigall.
Marie was baptized in her youth at Koerner Heights Church in Newton and remained a faithful member throughout her life. Her faith was central to who she was. She especially loved participating in Bible studies, where she found joy, fellowship, and spiritual growth.
From childhood through adulthood, Marie faced a number of physical challenges and underwent many surgeries. With quiet courage and a resilient spirit, she met each obstacle with determination. These challenges never diminished her warm, social nature or her deep love for the Lord. She remained active in her church community, built meaningful relationships, and found strength and purpose in her faith.
Marie attended Berean Academy, graduating in 1984, and went on to complete two years of college. She had a lifelong love for children and dedicated many years to caring for them. She worked in daycare, served in the church nursery, and volunteered faithfully with the weekday Bible school program in the Newton School District. Through her gentle spirit and steadfast kindness, she touched the lives of countless children and their families.
Marie expressed her creativity through crafts of many kinds. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and making beaded ornaments—thoughtful creations she often gifted to friends and family during the holidays. Her handcrafted gifts, made with patience and love, remain special reminders of her generosity.
Marie is survived by her siblings:
• Mike and Mel Nachtigall of Galva
