Margie passed away February 23, 2026.
Born August 9, 1927 in Tell, Childress County, Texas. Daughter of Paul Bryant Roberson and Onnie Bell Brown Roberson. They preceded her in death.
The family moved to Newton, Kansas in 1934 and resided there until 1937 when they moved to Lyons, Kansas. Margie graduated from Lyons High school in 1945 and worked as legal secretary for the Rice County Attorney for several years.
She married L.L. Strohm August 16, 1946 in Sterling, Kansas. In 1969 She relocated to Newton and was legal assistant for Hesston Corporation. She also worked for the Speir, Stroberg & Sizemore law firm in Newton.
She married LaVern J. “Bernie” Bernhardt August 7, 1971 in Hutchinson, Kansas. He preceeded her in death September 20, 2000. She was Administrative Secretary for the Hertzler Clinic in Halstead, Kansas for 12 years, retiring in 1991. She then worked for H&R Block during tax season as receptionist until the age of 93.
Margie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Newton where she participated in Ladies Aide, the Dorcas Circle, the Active Seniors Group, the Sewing Group and Altar Care. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Red Hatters Group.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Larry Lee Strohm, a sister Irene Roberson of Tell, Texas, and brothers Earl L. Roberson (Joann) of Salem Oregon, Floyd W Roberson (Erma) of Garden City, Kansas and Raymond Roberson (Edith) of Newton.
She is survived by son David L. Strohm and his wife Deanna of Augusta, Kansas, daughter Judy Baker and her husband Steve of Santa Clara, Utah, three grandsons, Daniel Strohm and wife Jane of Olathe, Kansas, Dillon Strohm and wife Ashley of Lake Winnebago, Missouri, Jeffrey Baker and his wife Ashely, of Toquerville, Utah, and one granddaughter Chelsea Baker of Austin, Texas, and five great-grandchildren.
