Mack James Cummings Sr., 85, passed away May 20, 2025. He was born January 25, 1940 to Mary Elizabeth and Donnie Day Cummings. He grew up in the Osage Hills of Oklahoma in the countryside. He was the second oldest of 6 kids; Donnie Dale Cummings, Joe Lee Cummings, John D. Cummings, Carl Gene Cummings, and Bessie Louise Willyard.
He loved fishing and the great outdoors. He loved to cook and eat brown beans and cornbread the way his Momma made it. He loved the classic country music Johnny Cash and Reba McIntyre. He loved God and Jesus and enjoyed his Wonder Bible. He told how he found Jesus when he was just a boy when his Momma would take him to The House of Prayer.
He had been married twice and has four children by his first wife; Margaret Jane Stafford. His children are: Cynthia Lynn Altman, Mack James Cummings Jr., Othen Donald Dale Cummings, and Jennifer Hope Cummings.
While he was raising his children, he had a farm where he raised goats and other animals. He once gave a goat to the Tulsa Zoo.
His second marriage now ex-wife; Teresa Hopkins and one step-son; Dustin.
He served in the United States Army as a young man. He drove a truck for Melugin’s Trucking and his lifelong best friend Duane Melugin for many years. After graduating college at OSU Institute of Technology – Okmulgee he opened and operated his own business in Pryor; “Mack’s TV” where he sold and repaired television sets and electronics. He was very prominent in the community and participated in events and sponsorship organizations.
In 1998 he moved to Kansas. Made a surprise visit to his niece; Rhonda Jones and his “great’s”; Miranda Marsolf, Mavrick Marsolf, and Jonathan Marsolf, and has been in Kansas ever since. He made many friends over the years and has touched many hearts with his good humor and debonair. This was exhibited each time he would say “Thank you for gracing me with your presence”.
He was a very sweet man with a big heart with much love for all his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, oldest brother and only sister, both ex-wives, and one granddaughter (Heather).
He leaves his love for all his surviving family and abundance of grandchildren. He is much loved and well-remembered.
Cremation was requested, no services are pending at this time.
