Loretta Coleman

September 8, 1931 — November 8, 2025

Newton

Loretta D. Coleman (94) was called home to the family’s heavenly table on November 8, 2025. She was born to Jacob D. and Anna Harms on September 8, 1931. She grew up in Whitewater and married Robert E. Coleman on November 3, 1950. They had four children, Kathy, Ken, Doris, and Donald.

She worked for a short period at Boeing, then became the “glue that held the family together.” Robert, employed at Boeing, was sometimes away on field trips; while she kept all the planned home projects on schedule. The multiple lots needed to be mowed, the lumber piles kept in order and chores completed. When all was done for the day, in the summer the kids were then taken to the city pool for an hour or two. Don’t know if she worked the whole time or if she got to enjoy one of her past times of reading a book. Of course there are all the other activities; Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and ball games to track as well.

They joined the Order of Eastern Star, Loretta was Worthy Matron several times and held many other offices including Grand Warder in her 50 plus hears of membership. She enjoyed traveling to the various activities, meeting and vising with everyone.

She was also employed during this time at Phillips Industries, while the kids grew up-some married and moved away, others completed high school and college. Then came the grandchildren, lots of laughter and more travels as well. That included a trip with Doris’s family to London and Paris.

When all is said and done, she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother, who loved her friends, family, home, and being active.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, a grandchild Krystal, husband Robert, and son Donald. She is survived by her children Katherine, Kenneth, and Doris Kammerer (Ron), grandchildren Andrew Storey (Candy), Abbie Kammerer, James Ditty, and Bri (Brian) Coleman, eleven great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
