Leola Mae Foiles

Leola Mae (Troxel) Foiles, 72 died on January 5, 2015 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita, Kansas. She was born on November 8, 1942 in Newton to, William Franklin “Frank” and Leora Stella (Johnson) Troxel.
Leola spent the first six weeks of her life in the Newton community and then her family spent time in the Iola, LaHarpe and Moran communities until 1956, when they relocated back to Newton. She graduated 8th grade at Moran, KS in May of 1956. Leola attended Newton High School and graduated in May of 1960.
From February 1961 until September 1, 1964, Leola worked as a receptionist and bookkeeper for Floair, Inc., Newton City/County Airport. Floair installed additional fuel tanks in aircraft and ferried them to their destination in foreign countries, and also ferried smaller planes to the coast for shipment overseas.
On December 11, 1971 she married Robert Lee Foiles in Newton, Kansas.
Leola loved all kinds of crafts as well as her computer. She enjoyed needlework and crafts involving leather tooling at times. She delighted in spending time with Becky, Ron, Megan and Chad, and her husband Robert.
Preceding her in death were her parents, and half-sister, E. Pauline “Polly” Box, sister, Delores Faye Troxel.
Survivors include her loving husband Robert, step-daughter, Rebecca Lynn (Foiles) and husband, Ron Wedel, Goessel; step-grandchildren, Megan (Aaron) Spencer, Ottawa; Chad Wesley Wedel, Goessel; great grandchildren , Ross and Austin Spencer; half-brother, Clarence (Annie) Troxel, Halstead and W.F. “Bill” (Maryann) Troxel, Mission, TX.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 8, 2015 from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015, 10:30 A.M. at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home. Pastor Brad Penner will be presiding.
Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Newton, KS.
Memorials may be made to Harry Hynes Hospice, in care of the funeral home at 120 E Broadway, Newton, KS 67114.
