Leo Ambrose Ponton, 92, died Friday (October 13, 2017) at the Catholic Care Center in Wichita, Ks.
He was born on April 7, 1925 in Junction City, Ks., the son of Archie and Emma Hughes Ponton.
Leo married Virginia Lee Kirkpatrick in Junction City in 1949.
During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army. Leo retired from the Union Pacific Railroad.
He was a longtime resident of the Manchester area.
Survivors include sons Greg and Patrick of Manchester, Mike of Longford, Ks.; daughter Sherry Schiffbauer of Manchester; brothers Jerry of Manchester, Gene of Indiana; sisters Sylvia Moore and Virginia Spurlock both of Indiana; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Leo is preceded in death by his parents; wife; and daughter Connie Morrison.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday (October 26, 2017) at the White Cloud Cemetery in Manchester, Ks.
Arrangements are by Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton.
