Karen K. Swarts, 74, of Wichita, retired Boeing Wichita Finance employee, passed away on Friday (March 22, 2013) at the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice of Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
Karen was born on May 20, 1938 in Newton, Ks., to Loren and Dorothy Moore Swarts, who precedes her in death.
Karen graduated from Newton High School as a member of the class of 1956. She was an avid sports enthusiast, as a participant, coach and spectator.
Survivors include Reginald Chaney, Ronda Snyder, Rodney Chaney, Valerie Swarts, Roger Swarts and other cousins.
Funeral services will be held at Community of Christ Church, 1650 S. Water in Wichita at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday (March 26, 2013) visitation a the church from 5:00pm until service time.
The family will receive friends also at the Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton on Wednesday (March 27, 2013) from 5pm until 8pm.
Graveside services and interment will be held Thursday (March 28, 2013) at 12:30 P.M., at the Walton Cemetery, Walton, Ks.
A memorial has been established with the Newton High School Girls Athletics, the Wichita State Women’s Athletics and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, Ks. 67114.
