Jorge Mario Mendoza Mazariegos, 47, died Monday (May 11, 2015) at the K.U. Medical Center in Kansas City, Ks.
He was born on July 7, 1967 in Quetzaltenagno, Guatemala. After graduating from college, Jorge moved to California in 1986.
He married Beatriz Elena Flores-Gonzalez on August 5, 1995 in Sinalod, Mexico. They lived in California until moving to Newton in June 2013.
Jorge was the pastor of the Iglesia La Cosecha.
Survivors include his wife Beatriz Mendoza; sons Jorge M. Mendoza, Jose M. Mendoza, David M. Mendoza; daughter Abigail M. Mendoza; and his mother Delores Mazariegos of Guatemala.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jose Mendoza.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 P.M., Saturday (May 16, 2015) at the Iglesia La Cosecha in Newton.
The casket will be open Friday
Interment will be held at a later date in Guatemala.
Arrangements are by Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton.
