Jerry Robert Kasper, 80, died on January 10, 2026 at his home in Newton, Kansas.
Jerry was born on March 1, 1945 in Newton, KS to Edward E. and Ruby (Adrian) Kasper. He married Alice F. Cornelius Oct. 17, 1974 in Newton. They later separated.
He honorably served in the United States Marine Corps from Apr. 20, 1965 to Apr. 18, 1969. He served as Staff Sergeant in the Marine Corps Reserves until his Honorable Discharge on April 19, 1971.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and was a skilled mechanic. He especially enjoyed spending time with his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his son, Troy A. Kasper and wife Cindy, of Newton, KS; daughter, Trisha M. Menadue and her husband Joe, of El Dorado, KS; brothers Bill Kasper, Harold Kasper, and Roy Kasper; sister Doris Miller; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Delores Jean Schmidt; brothers Charles Kasper and Donald D. Kasper.
A service will be held at Golden Plains Free Methodist Church, 224 NW 60th, Newton, Ks, Friday, January 16th at 11:00 am. Internment to follow at a later date.
