Jennie Arellano, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter and many cherished memories. Born on May 15, 1935 to Dolores and Leonardo Estrada in Newton, KS, Jennie lived a life filled with joy. On December 10, 1960 she married her beloved Raymond Arellano, with whom she shared six children: Liz Koehn (Roy), Bridget Hollis (Kase), Julie Lotto (Jeff), Gina Monarez (Mike), Michelle Decker (Les) and Raymond John Arellano.
Jennie’s nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved to spoil with her delicious homemade meals for their birthdays and little gifts when they would visit. Jennie also shared a special relationship with her nieces, Shannon Thomas and Jaclyn Steiner. She is survived by her children, grandchildren: Zack Lotto, Brandie Hollis-Russell, Cody Koehn, Meghan Doyle (Tyler), Caleb Koehn (Ashley Espinoza), Courtney McCoy (Bryan), Braden Decker, Zach Monarez, Lukas Hollis, Vin Arellano and Taylor Arellano; great-grandchildren: Cambri Koehn, Michaela Koehn, Eli Koehn, Maddox Koehn, Kylee Lotto, James Doyle, Leighton McCoy, Charlotte Doyle, Baker McCoy, Brynn Koehn, Jaxon Lotto and Mallory Townsend; and siblings: Marty Montano, Josie Palmer (Bud), Jerry Estrada (Becky) and Larry Estrada (Pat).
Throughout her life, Jennie, exemplified strength, resilience, a strong faith, hard work and unwavering love. She enjoyed walking at the YMCA, shopping at the Et Cetera Shop and enjoying a McDonald’s Happy Meal to collect the toys for her great-grandchildren.
Jennie’s memory will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire and uplift her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond, as well as her parents, siblings and her grandson Cohen Arellano.
Rosary will be prayed Thursday, May 23, 2024, 6:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, May 24, 2024, 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe, with Father Jorge Lopez as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church or Kidron Bethel Village Healthcare Benevolent Fund, and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
