Glenda Kay Raskopf

GLENDA KAY RASKOPF of Newton, Kansas, died Friday, August 28, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness.

She was born on November 26, 1941, in Denver, Colorado to Keith and Warreen Wilkinson. Her family later moved to Agenda, Kansas where she attended public school graduating from Agenda High School. Following graduation, she attended the Wichita School of Business where she met her future husband, Larry Raskopf. Larry and Kay were married on October 9, 1961. She lived most of her life in the Newton and Peabody, Kansas area.

They had two sons, Larry Jr. (Paula) and Jeffrey and a daughter, Michelle Wonders (Mike), five grandchildren: Ashley Crider (Garrett), Karissa Pheatt (Johnny), Kami Wonders (Clay), Kendra Raines (Eric) and Jhonathan Raskopf and nine great-grandchildren: Bently, Corbin and Chloe Crider, Katherine, Abbygail and Laura Raines, and Magnolia and August Pheatt, and Reid Cole. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and a special fur baby, Pickles.

Kay was a member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha philanthropy sorority. She clerked local auctions for many years as well as driving a bus for the Newton and Peabody school systems. Her and her husband enjoyed working on their farm and gardening.

Following her husband's death, she moved from the farm at Peabody, Kansas to Newton, Kansas enjoying activities with neighbors and friends which became an important part of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Larry, Sr., a son, Jeffey, and a grandson, Jhonathan Raskopf as well as her three sisters, Nancy Dolezal, Karen Trecek, and Barbara Arbuthnot.

The family gathered privately to honor Kay's life. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Heartland Hospice, 2872 N. Ridge Road, Suite 122, Wichita, KS 67205 or to the Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 W. Broadway, Newton, KS 67114.
