Gilbert Dwight Jones

Gilbert Dwight Jones, 39, died at his home in Valley Center, Kansas.
He was born on March 23, 1975 to Lydia J. (Rodriguez) and Charles E. Jones in Newton, Kansas.

Gilbert held a church membership with Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Attending Newton High School, he was a 1993 graduate. He then went on and attended Wichita State for several years, before beginning his employment as a machinist as Nortrac.

Most of his lifetime, Gilbert was a member of the Newton community. He located to Valley Center several years back, to remain close to his beloved daughter, Morgan. He was a very loving and caring man that was family oriented and was always making sure his parents were taken care of.

Gilbert enjoyed spending time with his daughter. They enjoyed hanging out, going to movies, going out to eat, and Sunday dinner’s with his folks. He was always active and fit, enjoying jogging and working out. He’s described as very social and big hearted, always having friends and family over for cookouts. He was an avid Cardinals baseball fan and enjoyed watching football games. Gilbert was very well liked by many and was surrounded by friends and family that loved him dearly.

Gilbert is survived by his loving parents, a brother James A. Jones, all of Newton; daughter, Morgan Elizabeth Jones, Valley Center; cousins, aunts, uncles and a paternal grandmother.

Preceding him in death was an infant brother, Gilbert J. Jones, maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather.

A visitation with the family will be held on Monday, December, 22, 2015 at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, from 1:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be led by Father Juan Garza, on Tuesday, December 23, 2015 at 9:00 A.M.
The Mass of Christian Burial will follow the rosary, beginning at 9:30 A.M. on Tuesday.
There will be a private family inurnment held at a later date. Cremation will take place after the Mass.
Friends may leave memorial contributions to the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, with the funeral home, or mail to 120 E Broadway, Newton, KS 67114.
