Gerold L. Anspaugh

Gerold Leroy Anspaugh, 72, of Newton, died Sunday (Jan. 29, 2012) at his home.

He was born on October 19, 1939 in Rural Dorrance, Ks., the son of Lyle Arthur and
Carrie Daisy Essig Anspaugh. He graduated from high school in Lucas, Kansas in 1958.
Gerold later served in the U. S. Marine Corps.

Gerold married Sherry V. Ramsey on November 26, 1965 in Russell, Ks. His work many
years in the construction business took them to several communities in North Central Kansas.
They moved to Newton 12 years ago.

Survivors include his daughter, Gerri Lankton of Denton, Tx.; step-son Tony VanPelt and
his wife Tyla of Wichita; brothers James Anspaugh of Garden City and Russell Anspaugh
of Salina; sisters Fern Dolezal of Ellsworth, Maryln Swenson of Concordia, and Jeniece
Kinnan of Las Vegas, Nev.; and five grandchildren.

Gerold is preceded in death by his wife Sherry on December 17, 2011, and his parents.

Private family services will be held.
