Floyd E. Remer

Floyd E. Remer 87, died Monday March 6, 2023 at The Robert J. Dole V.A. Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.

He was born May 16, 1935 in Newton, Kansas to John Wesley “J.W.” and Mable “Brunk” Remer. On

September 24, 1960 he married Naomi I. Helphingstine at Winfield, Kansas and she preceded him in

death on October 15, 2021.

Floyd was a member of the New Life Assembly of God Church in Newton. He served his country in the

United States Army.

Floyd and his wife lived in Winfield until the mid-1960’s when the moved to Springfield, Missouri where

he attended Central Bible College. After becoming a pastor, he served churches in Bucklin, Cherryvale,

Independence, Sedan, Augusta and Newton.

Survivors include his daughters Lisa Burnett and her husband Laynne of Peabody, Kansas and Crystal

Derstine of Park City, Kansas. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Floyd is preceded in death by his parents, wife Naomi

Funeral service will be 9:30 a.m., Monday March 13, 2023 at New Life Assembly of God Church in

Newton with Pastor Duane Moraine presiding. Burial with Military Honors will be 1:00 p.m. Monday,

March 13, 2023 at Winfield Veterans Cemetery in Winfield, Kansas. Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Sunday March 12, 2023 with the family receiving friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., at Broadway Colonial

Funeral Home Newton, Kansas.
