Connie Lea Boatwright

Connie Lea Boatwright (Lechner) 65 of Sedgwick, Kansas passed away May 28, 2023. She was born June 26, 1957 at Smokey Hill Air Force Base in Salina, Kansas to Harley and Patsy Lechner. 

Connie graduated in 1975 from Sedgwick High School. She married Dean Boatwright on June 16, 1986 in York, South Carolina. Growing up in South Dakota with lots of family and then moving back to Kansas. Her passions were working at Halstead Coop, her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. She loved working in her yard, being with her friends and her little dog.

Survivors include siblings, David (Laura) Lechner, Mark Lechner, Mike (Ana) Lechner and Dana Lechner. Her children, Lori Michelle Baker (Robert) of Rock Hill, South Carolina, son, Dakota,  Lisa Dreier (Ben) of Valley Center, Kansas, children, Taylor (Landon) of Valley Center, Cody (Ashton) of Sedgwick, Kansas, Lori Grattan (Phillip) of Sedgwick, Kansas, children Riley (Lexi), Collin, and Cooper, Brandon Boatwright (Becca) of Sedgwick, children, Madison, Haylei, Drake, Nichole, and Briana. Great grandchildren, Emma, Jackson and Waylon, and countless nieces, nephews and extended family.

Connie is proceeded in death by her husband, Dean Boatwright, her parents, Harley and Patsy Lechner and her sister Judy Schroeder. 

Visitation will be Monday, June 5, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton, Kansas Graveside Services will be held June 6, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. The Memorial Service will follow the graveside service at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 5356 N Hillside, Wichita, Kansas.
