Clarice Titus

June 5, 1929 — December 23, 2015

Clarice E. (Penner) Titus passed away peacefully on Wednesday (December 23, 2015) at the age of 86 in Wichita.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday (December 30, 2015) at the First Presbyterian Church in Newton. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday 1pm til 8pm where the family will receive friends between 6pm and 8pm.

A memorial has been established with the First Presbyterian Church and the Newton Senior Center, contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, Ks.

Clarice was born on June 5, 1929 in Newton, Ks., the daughter of H. J. and Eleanor Richards Penner. She married E. Ralph Titus on January 15, 1950 in Newton.

She raised her family on the farm and also worked at First Bank, Doctors Park, and Prairie View, all in Newton. In later years she volunteered at the Newton Senior Center and the gift shop at Newton Medical Center. She was an active and faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church of Newton and had a very large circle of friends. Clarice was an expert seamstress and enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, and her cat.

Survivors include her daughters Marsha Mills and husband Morris of McPherson, and Marlys Titus of Emporia; son Myron Titus and wife Linda of Wichita; granddaughters Teresa Bonham and Tim of Gardner, Tamara Wilson and Shawn of Lyons, Tonya Mills and Steve of Lindsborg, Lindsay Wagoner and Jason of Wichita; grandson Justin Titus and Laura of Wichita; 14 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Clarice is preceded in death by her parents and husband on November 10, 1997.
