Clara J. Reid, 66, of Newton, died Tuesday (June 19, 2012) at her home.
She was born on March 25, 1946 in Athens, Tennessee, the daughter of Roscoe H. and Estie I. Akins German. Clara married Harry E. Reid on June 2, 1973 in Chicago Heights, Illinois. They moved to Newton in 1974.
Among the places Clara had worked is Collins Bus and later the Hay & Forage Company.
Survivors include her husband Harry of the home; sons Donny Pasilas of Wichita, Roscoe Lewis of Maize, Harry Reid of Hutchinson, Michael Reid and James Reid both of Newton; two brothers Gary German of Tennessee and Roscoe German, Jr. of Illinois; two sisters Sharon Bowman of Illinois and Joni Tankersleeve of Tennessee; and five grandchildren.
Clara is preceded in death by her parents and one brother Jimmy German.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday evening between 6 and 8.
As cremation has been effected, private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
Arrangements are by Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton.
