Carole Herron

August 15, 1935 — December 26, 2021

 

Carole Ann Herron died on December 26, 2021 in Newton, Kansas.

She was the only child of Floyd and Olive Smith Sherman, born on August 15, 1935 in Lexington, Oklahoma.

On December 22, 1956, she was married to Lawrence “Larry” Herron and had four children, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Carole attended Oklahoma University graduating with a degree in Medical Technology and worked at Bethel Clinic in Newton.

She was an active volunteer in Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. Carole was a member of Golden Plains Free Methodist Church where she served on many boards, she was also a driver and served on the board for Meals on Wheels.

Carol and Lawrence loved to travel and saw much of America. They were avid OU fans and loved being with their family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday (December 30, 2021) at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton. Interment will be in the Restlawn Garden of Memories outside of Newton.

There is no visitation.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with Golden Plans Free Methodist Church or Wounded Warriors, contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, Ks. 67114.
