Carol Widman

Carol Louise Loggan Widman, 78, died Sunday (April 5, 2015) at the Harry Hynes Hospice of Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita.

She was born on December 9, 1936 in Independence, Kansas, the daughter of Kenneth and Gertrude Snell Crowe. Carol attended schools there and graduated from Independence High School.

She married Max Bruce Loggan on December 29, 1954 in Independence. They moved to Lawrence where they lived for several years and Max operated the M & M. Sign Company. After retiring in 1996, they moved to Newton. For many years Carol and Max were active with their Gospel Music ministry. Max died on May 29, 1997.

Carol later married Stanley Widman, they continued to live in Newton. They enjoyed taking many cruises together and spending time on the beaches. He died on November 6, 2010.

Recently Carol had been attending the New Life Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include two sons Dr. Michael Loggan and his wife Luann of Kansas City, Mo.; and Mark Loggan and his wife Kelly of Newton; five grandchildren Adam Loggan, Aaron Loggan, Ryan Loggan, Rachel Loggan, and Chris Allen and his wife Jade; and two great grandchildren Jayce and Cayde Allen.

She is preceded also in death by her father, Kenneth Crowe; mother Gertrude McCracken; and brother Bill Crowe.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday (April 11, 2015) at the New Life Assembly of God Church in Newton. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.

Friends may call at the funeral home Friday between 1pm and 8pm.

Arrangements are by Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton.
