Bonnie Jean Vetter, 83, died Tuesday (March 25, 2014) at the Kansas Medical Center in Andover, Ks.
She was born on November 16, 1930 in Whitewater, Ks., the daughter of William Oscar and Sylvia Eva Harman Church. Bonnie was raised in the Whitewater area where she graduated from Whitewater High School.
Bonnie was united in marriage to Maurice E. “Moe” Vetter on June 30, 1949 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Newton. They made their home in Newton. He died on September 21, 2002. Bonnie had been an accountant for many years, working at the Boise Cascade Lumberyard for several years.
Bonnie attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church and continued to live in Newton until two years ago when she was moved to nursing home care.
Survivors include her son Kenneth Vetter and his wife Donna of El Dorado, Ks.; daughter Helen England and husband Tim of Jenks, Okla.; grandchildren Carissa Spencer, Cory and Amanda Leary, Krista Vetter and Derek Vetter; and great granddaughter Evalyce Leary.
Bonnie is preceded in death her parents; husband; daughter Linda Henry; grandson Travis Brittingham; and brothers Vernice and Marvin Church.
Graveside and inurnment services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, (April 2, 2014) at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Newton.
There will be no visitation or viewing as cremation has been effected.
Arrangements are by Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton.
