Arlene Ruth Decker

February 20, 1943 — May 7, 2023

Arlene Ruth Decker was born February 20, 1943 in Meade, KS to C. F. and Margaret (Reimer) Classen.  Growing up, she attended a country school and Meade Academy.  She also attended Grace Bible Institute in Omaha, NE.  She accepted the Lord and was baptized at an early age.
Arlene was united in marriage to Lyndon Decker in Meade, KS, on August 5, 1966. She joined him in ministry with the Go Ye Mission in Tahlequah, OK, where he was teaching in a private boarding high school.  In 1983, a move was made to Newton, KS, where she lived until her death.  With her husband and daughter by her side she died peacefully and quietly and went to her heavenly home on May 7, 2023.  She was a devoted stay at home mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She would often say “I miss my family” and loved to be with them as often as she could.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years;  her two sons, Les and his wife Michelle, and Loren; daughter Renee and her husband Chris Hosmer; her nine grandchildren, Courtney and her husband Bryan McCoy, Braden, Mallory, Eli, and Jonah Decker and Christian, London, Emery, and Lilly Hosmer.  She is also survived by two great-grandchildren Leighton and Baker McCoy, who affectionately called her GiGi.  She also has two brothers Eldin Classen and Don Classen and two sisters Doris Moldenhaur and Della Regier. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Elmer, Arnold, and Marlin and sister Luella. She is already greatly missed, but we know she no longer is suffering and is at peace in her heavenly home.
