Allan K. Beasley

Allan K. Beasley, 91, died on October 18, 2012 at the Heritage Trail Nursing Home in Cleburne, Texas.

He was born on July 13, 1921 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Allan was the son of Selma Victoria (Anderson) and Robert Blair Beasley. His family moved to Topeka in 1931, where he graduated from Topeka High School.

On April 10, 1943 Al married Bette Jean Andrews in Oskaloosa, Kansas.

Allan served from April 16, 1943 to January 3, 1946 in the United States Army. He served in the 549th AntiAircraft Division in the 5th Army under General Paton. Allan returned to the United States on Christmas Eve 1954.

After his discharge, he returned to Newton area. He was in the printing business most of his married life. He owned the Sedgwick Pantapraph Newspaper. He later sold the paper and was employed by the Hesston Corporation as a boiler operator, due to his health he retired on July 1984 after 15 years of employment.

Allan was a member of the United Methodist Church, life member of the American Legion, Veteran of Foreign Wars and 40-8 of the American Legion, all of Newton, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Bette on October 29, 2004; and son, John Edward Beasely one month before his 12th birthday in 1961; brothers Richard, Robert, Donald, William; and sister Jeanne Oliver.

Survivors include, four sons, Allan Beasely, Jr, Hutchinson, Ks., Donald Beasely, Keller, TX, Ronald Beasely, Cleburne, and Kenneth Beasley, Sterling, KS ; 11 grandchildren; 23 great Grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday evening 6pm til 9pm while the family is present

Graveside Services and interment will be held at 12:00 Noon, on Monday (October 22, 2012) at the Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, OK.
