Adolph W. Koehn

Adolph W. Koehn, 87, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on June 15 at the Kansas Christian Home in Newton, Kansas.

Adolph was born on Nov. 12, 1924 in Ringwood, Oklahoma as the eldest of five children to Fred A and Mary E (Koons) Koehn. During his childhood his family moved to Texas and then back to Oklahoma in order to survive during during the depression and the dust bowl days. He graduated from Enid High School, taking vocational training as a printer. At the age of 19 he was employed at the Southwest Daily Times in Liberal, KS, working there for 10 years. There he met Delores Bryant and they were married July 4, 1952. They moved to Newton in 1953 where Adolph was employed at the Newton Kansan for 36 years as a linotype operator and printer. He faithfully attended Newton Bible Church where he was a member with his family. After his retirement, he volunteered with Source of Light Bible Correspondence Ministry in Newton.

Adolph was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mary Koehn and his youngest sister, Esther Nickel.

Survivors include his wife, Delores; three daughters and their husbands, Mary and Dennis Krueger, Nanning, China; Deanna and Rich Duerksen, McPherson; and Judy and Don Reimer, Inman; grandchildren Tim and Hannah Goering, Ben and Paul Krueger, Dawna, Reesa, and Barry Duerksen, Delci, Drew, Dale, and Danae Reimer; two great-grandsons, Aiden and Gabriel Goering; two brothers, Martin Koehn of Rio Linda, CA, and Abner Koehn of Jackson, TN; and one sister and her husband, Dahna and Bill Regier of Newton.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 22, 2:00 p.m. at Newton Bible Church with burial following at Greenwood Cemetery.

Viewing will be at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 with family members present from 6:00 – 8:00.

Memorial gifts have been requested to the Newton Bible Church Missions or the Source of Light ministry of Newton, KS, contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, Ks. 67114.
